Ray Goldring

Ray has a long and accomplished record of working with groups and individuals in the outdoors. He has been a key figure in both the inception and development of the Environmental Education Centre of NZ based in Craigieburn. After working many years in the NZ Forest Service (later DoC ) as park ranger in both the North and South Islands, he later became the Director of Conservation corps programme in Whitianga on the Coromandel Peninsula. Ray was the Programme Manager for New Zealand Mountain Safety Council, an organisation for which he had worked voluntarily as an instructor since the early seventies. Ray has extensive experience in the co-ordination and carrying out of search and rescue, both in New Zealand and in Antarctica. Ray has instructed courses in bushcraft, snow safety, climbing, and risk management.
